Alpha App FAQ

1. Who is the app for?

The Alpha app is a guest-facing app. It is meant to be a course companion for the guests attending your Alpha as a way to re-watch and follow-up with what has happened around the table at your Alpha.

2. Can I communicate with my team (host, helpers, etc.) through the app?

No, at this time, the app is a course companion for guests. Stay tuned for team resources in the future!

3. Why are videos locked? Is my app not working?

Your app is working! Videos are locked until 4 hours after the start time of each respective week. For example, if your Alpha is at 6pm on Monday nights, the video for that week will unlock at 10pm on Monday.

4. What if I’m not using all the Alpha videos or using them in a different order?

If you don’t want your guests to have access to the videos you are not using or access on the wrong days simply rearrange or turn off select videos under the “Schedule” tab on MyAlpha.

5. My course ID is blank.

Your fastest solution is to register a new Alpha with the same credentials on MyAlpha. Otherwise, go to the “more” section of the app, click App Feedback, submit your request, or email [email protected] and we will work to resolve this as soon as possible.

6. I can’t find my course ID.

Log on to MyAlpha and click on the “My Guests” tab. Scroll down and click on the box “Share app with guests”. At the top of this document is your course ID beginning with us- XXXX (make sure to enter 'us-’ on the app!)

7. I don’t see the app option on MyAlpha.

The app currently supports the Alpha Film Series and Alpha Film Series with Discussion Breaks in English only. We are working on other options, but the app is not currently available if you are running a different series or registered in a different language. If you are using the supported series and language and not seeing the app information, log out using the gray 'log out' button on the top right of your Dashboard and log back in again. This will refresh the platform.

8. I get an error message when I enter my Course ID on the app.

Try resetting your schedule by clicking on the blue 'reset to recommended order' button on your Schedule tab. Or change the date on one of your upcoming sessions, then change it back again. The resetting or refreshing of the schedule can resync the course with the app. If this doesn't work, your quickest solution is to register a new Alpha with the same credentials on MyAlpha. You can reach out to [email protected] if the problem continues.

9. Can I use the app for Alpha Youth?

Unfortunately, at this time the Alpha Youth series is not supported through the app.

10. . Can I download the Alpha Videos from the app?

Alpha videos do not have the capability of being downloaded in the app. You will need to log on to MyAlpha to download the videos for your Alpha sessions.

11. Why am I receiving emails with missing information in the subject line?

You may have received emails with a subject line such as: “[name] is interested in next steps post Alpha”? In the app, guests can submit a form called “My next step”. In the form, the guest notes actions they want to do post Alpha such as Attend church, Join a small group, or Get baptized. After submitting the form, the admin email associated to the course via MyAlpha will receive the email “[name] is interested in next steps post Alpha” for every submission. Each email will include the email or phone number of the guest so that you can follow up with them.
